Yes, today was a great moment in history – the inauguration of our 44th president took place and I shouldn’t belittle Barack Obama being sworn into office because I am truly excited about the occassion and overwhelmed with the emotions that came with the day (although I didn’t cry at work, but that is for another discussion); however…I had my first glimpse (and purchase) of the season of Mini Eggs! Mini Eggs you ask? YES! Hello people! Everytime as soon as Easter comes near – although we are only in January, so they may be from last year…nevermind, don’t think about that – the stores begin to sell Cadbury’s Mini Eggs. These chocolatey treats are my most favorite candy in the world. And for a fat girl, seeing your favorite candy that is only sold seasonly is some big news.
So, what did I do you ask? Um…I bought some. And proceeded to eat some. But what I really love is the process in which I eat this wonderful candy. It is a process. And I’ve found that I’m not the only one. You can only put one egg in your mouth at a time and then you have to crack the hard outer candy shell, eat all of it from the chocolate inside and THEN you can eat the chocolate. I usually let the chocolate slowly melt in my mouth so I can savor each little egg as long as possible. I know, its crazy, but I do have an obsession with food in general. Plus, I’m a little quirky to start off with on how I eat my foods. Don’t even get me started on how foods shouldn’t touch… But, it definitely has brought some excitement to my rather boring and as usual stressful day. Of course now…because I was only able to buy 2 little bags (and Mike took one), they’re all gone. I gobbled up all of my Mini Eggs…all 10 that were in the bag. Guess I’ll have to go by the store tomorrow to get more.
Yay for Mini Egg season!
I have always been a fan of breakfast any time of the day. I have recently stumbled across a new breakfast joint that looks very interesting. Now most of us have been to a Cold Stone Creamery or a Marble Slab Creamery where you get ice cream mixed with toppings of your choice. Now we have Cereality, a breakfast bar with a similar concept. From the Cereality Website:
“When you walk up to a Cereality, something immediately feels familiar. That’s because we serve dozens of brand-name cereals (both hot and cold), just waiting to be combined.
And ordering at Cereality is easy. Pick two cereals and a topping. Be creative. We’ll mix it up, and then you add as much milk as you like (including soy and lactose-free).”
Now I have never personally been to this marvelous eatery, but I do plan to spend some time there sampling the goods when my travels bring me closer to one of their locations.
